Day 3

Day 3:   Asheville, NC to Parkersburg, WV - 543 Miles.

This morning we started off by heading south to the South Carolina / North Carolina border so we can truthfully that we were in South Carolina this trip.  That, and we needed a good picture of Flat Stanley at the state border.

We then proceed to take a fairly direct route up from South Carolina, through North Carolina, into Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia.  We did stop and smell the roses a couple of times but after awhile the scenery all starts to look the same.    *Oooh Look another hill, another tree, another curve!

No were not bored yet, we have found historical markers to keep us entertained and educated.

All of us are still enjoying each others company and Paw Paw is still allowed to sit inside the car.   Not an exceptionally long day, the highlight was stopping and walking the grounds of the West Virginia State Capitol in Charleston, WV.    However Mom and I were very underdressed for the occasion as it appears that its Sr. Prom night in Charleston and me without a tux and mom without a formal gown.    However some of the attire chosen by today teenagers would not have passed Mom, Mrs. Curtis and or Mrs. Farrell's scrutiny back when I was in High School.    Not that I noticed or anything.

Tomorrow we are going to shoot for Niagra Falls or not, just depends where we end up.  Good night from Parkersburg, WV.
